Review: Nature’s Gentle Touch Tea Tree Anti-Dandruff System

Review: Nature’s Gentle Touch Tea Tree Anti-Dandruff System
Patsy and I extend our apologies to all our readers for the long silence on the blog the last few months, we have been occupied with so many things especially involving school. However we are back now and hope to post more often. Thanks.

Now, on to the review; I love this entire anti-dandruff system.  Ofcourse it is not all perfect but overall, it does what it is supposed to do which is to eliminate dandruff and flaking. I have a very dry scalp and my scalp tends to flake a lot more when I am stressed or not eating well; this system has greatly helped to reduce these problems for me. I will be reviewing each product in the line individually and telling you what I think about them and how I use them so this post will be lengthy, get your popcorn and drink.
First, I’ll like to enumerate the benefits of tea tree oil for you essential oil novices*lol*
It helps heal and soothe sunburns
Treats acne
Naturally cures bad breath
Helps prevent lice
Works as anantiseptic
Kills mold
Aids against ailments like dandruff
Tea Tree Anti- Dandruff Shampoo
This shampoo does what it claims to do which is eliminate dandruff and flaking. However, I was disappointed to find sulfates, parabens and alcohol in its ingredients. Those three items are a no-no for natural hair or any hair type in fact as it dries out hair, so I try to focus this shampoo on my scalp and use something else to clarify my hair. I did like the inclusion of jojoba oil, avocado oil and ofcourse tea tea oil to substitute for the oils lost in the washing process. I also like the cooling sensation I get from the menthol when I wash my hair.
Tea Tree Anti- Dandruff Instant Conditioner
This conditioner is supposed to be used after the shampoo and massaged through the hair and scalp, left on for 3 minutes and rinsed out. I just add this conditioner to whatever conditioner I’m using on that particular wash day and rinse out after a few minutes because if I use it alone for my big head of hair, one bottle wouldn’t even be enough. This product also contains alcohol which I am unimpressed with but I can’t complain as I don’t use too much of it at a time.
Tea Tree Anti- Dandruff Leave-In Treatment
This product is to be used after the above and is not meant to be rinsed out. One direction on it says and I quote “apply to scalp one to four times daily or as required”; am I the only one that finds it hilarious that someone might use hair product up to four times daily? Anyways, I like this product and I add it to my hair cream to make it easier to use as often as possible. Again, this product contains parabens *sad* but it has a lot of good stuff like wheat germ oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, jojoba oil and yes, tea tree oil.
Tea Tree Anti- Dandruff Daily Scalp Therapy
This product is only meant to be used when there is itching to soothe it. I really didn’t know the difference between this and the leave in treatment till I read the ingredients and found that it contains more good stuff like castor oil, hair keratin, and coconut oil. However, it has more parabens as well as lanolin and petrolatum *tears*
Tea Tree Anti- Dandruff Scalp Protector
This hair cream does amazing things for my scalp; I know this because I bought it first before I bought the entire tea tree system and I noticed the difference which made me buy everything else. It contains shea butter, cocoa butter and tea tree oil. It also contains lanolin and petrolatum which saddens me as I really love this product. I add the daily scalp therapy, leave in treatment, pure coconut oil and extra virgin olive oil to this cream to make it my own
Pros
Actually eliminates itching and flaking associated with dandruff
Wide range of products
Presence of oils like jojoba, avocado and coconut oils
Price is reasonable considering the quality gotten, cant remember how much exactly for everything but I doubt it exceeded 7000 naira for 5 products
Cons
Presence of parabens, sulfates and alcohol
Overall, I see myself purchasing this set for a long time as this is my second or third time repurchasing it. Despite the ingredients that dry out hair, I always deep- condition my hair before I use these products and I co-wash (washing with conditioner instead of shampoo to retain moisture) immediately after to try and maintain my hair’s health.
See you in my next post. Xoxo.
