Hiiiii... It’s been like 2 weeks. I’ve missed this space. I’ve wanted to blog but I’m so busy these days. I’m excited half the time and exhausted the other half. Lol.

Anywho among the many things that have been going on in my life, my birthday happened. I turned 22... yay...

I always tell people that I never planned for any birthday beyond 18. Don’t get me wrong I didn't plan to die, I planned for the years, not just the actual birthdays. Like there was 13, becoming a teen, 15 cause I could be 16 next year, the sweet 16 itself, 17 cause well we have to get to 18, and then the super 18. Everything was just a blur after that.

So when I turned 19, I was like hmmmn, I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel about 19. I didn’t plan how to feel about 19. Then 20 and the big 21. I was excited for that one, but 22... 22 in my head felt like I’m officially in my twenties. Those twenties they always talked about, where everything gets confusing and you feel certain types of ways and you have to take charge of certain things. I was becoming that 20 something year old aunty that seemed old to me when I was a child. Yikes.

So months before 22 I was not ready to turn 22 (like duh) but really, I felt like I wasn’t going to be ready. I got so preoccupied with turning 22 sometime during the year I had to tell myself to not miss out on being 21 cause I’m busy thinking of 22. Might sound funny but this really happened. Somewhere in the middle of all that the holy spirit used my devotional to calm my nerves. He was in control and if he decided I’d be 22, I'd be ready for 22. What does it even mean to be ready for 22? you’re gonna be 22 anyway. So by September 7th I was excited. Here was a new year staring me in the face, I was waiting to unfold the mystery of God’s Loving me again for a new year.

So yeah birthday post. Although Nkasike (who is amazing by the way) already did one for me. Thank you girl. This is inspired by many things, one being her post of ten random things about herself.

So here’s 22 random things about me.

1. I love spaghetti. I think its it's one of the best things that exist food wise. If I don’t pick it on the menu please feel my temperature quickly.

2. I dress up not down. Honestly I’m just extra and that's that. I have tendencies of overdressing for an event and I can simply attend an event cause I get the chance to dress up. So yes I like looking good.

3. I find it difficult to memorize numbers. Phone numbers are... sigh. I can remember only one of my numbers by heart easily and that’s cause I’ve used it since 2007.

4. I wear glasses. Many people don’t know this.

5. I’m a creative. I didn’t study anything creative in school (I studied law), but I can learn or figure out how to create anything in a very short amount of time. I also enjoy creating stuff endlessly. I made the dress in the above pictures and enjoyed it.

6. I’m a poet. It’s one of my rather silent talents.

7. I enjoy cleaning bathrooms. I honestly can’t explain this hobby.

8. I carry a book wherever I’m going just in case I get bored. I don’t do well with boredom.

9. I love animation. I’m not a movie person but I make exceptions for animation.

10. I’m not a morning person. Life seems to be adjusting this but I revert to factory settings once there’s no goal to achieve.

11. I’m a night crawler. I’m always awake at odd hours, most likely reading.

12. I can’t believe I'm just on number 11 but I am I firm believer in coconut oil, shea butter and Jamaican black castor oil.

13. Making exceptions for university, I have lived in the city of Jos my whole life.

14. No,  I can’t speak Hausa. Yes, I actually come from the north.

15. I am a talkative. Some people think I’m quiet... *laughs in I also have a very loud voice*...

16. I love me some heels. (Please refer to number 1). Aside those I’m on flat sandals. The only pair of covered flats I have are for school purposes.

17. I like to dance. If I’m not moving when music comes on, understand that at that moment I’m exercising serious discipline.

18. I can’t remember ever getting tired of eating carrots. I can just keep on forever.

19. I walk very fast. I’m always a couple of steps ahead of my friends when we're walking together. God bless them for understanding.

20. I struggle to sleep with the lights on. They really just have to be off. Thank you Dami for forgiving my excesses in uni.

21. I Have a thing for nails. It’s one of the first things I notice on a person. In secondary school I knew almost every girl from just looking at her nails. Who needs a face when I could look at your nails.

22. I’m bad with both faces and names by the way, better with faces than names though. So if I forget your name more than a couple of times please forgive me.
