I can’t believe I am writing this blog-post. If you told me in January last year that I would be letting go of all Patsy and I have built on this blog, I would have laughed in your face. Yet, here we are, this is going to be my last post on blushesndbrushes.com.

It all started sometime in the second quarter of last year when we did a blog audit with the amazing Alice of The Blogger’s Advocate because we wanted to develop our brand. She pointed out a truth I had been refusing to tell myself which is that we had outgrown this platform. When we started blogging, the original plan was to share our love for makeup with the world by sharing reviews and hauls. This eventually led us to include hair, skincare and even some fashion which all aligned with our brand name in some way right? We then included our food adventures, personal life, experiences, law school chronicles and even faith. Suddenly, our blog became a beautiful medley of all we are but it didn’t reflect in our name.

That audit showed us that we had to do better and so we decided to move hosting platforms and change our brand name to something that truly showcases what we are now and leaves room for who we will be in the future. Our domain name expires soon and we won’t be renewing our subscription *sobs softly*


So as a way of signing out, I want to give credit where it is due because after 4 years of blogging, I have too many people to thank:

· God: of course because it is in you that I live and move and have my being; our ability to create on this platform is simply an outflow of Your creativity.

· My parents: for unknowingly funding the creation of this blog and its yearly subscription lol. Thank you mummy for your encouraging words after you read my post about self-hate.

· Patsy: without whom I would have never had the courage to have this platform, thanks for joining me on this crazy ride, the world is not ready for what we have next.

· Tade of Hego3rip: for creating this blog in 2015 and helping us publish posts for almost a year before he forced us to take the reins, and for working on our new website.

· Blessing, Dami, Ray, Oyin, Timi, Pam, Nnenna and Mimi: for being there at the beginning and inspiring me at different points in time to continue blogging

· Dako Alice: for being an amazing teacher and placing me on the right trajectory towards what I want to do, thanks for telling me I am an amazing writer last year, it meant the world

· Great Anthony: for always asking me “how’s the blog?” even after months of not talking

· BeautylineByDidi: for being the first brand to ever send me PR, it really validated the work we have been doing on this platform

· The Blogger’s Advocate Support group: you guys inspired so many amazing posts and I have learnt so much from that community

· Every single person who has ever viewed at page on this blog which as at July 6th 2019 had 63,131 page views, you are the real MVPs and I bless God for you all.




So as we move on, I will definitely miss the blog name more than anything else.
