Showing off my flawed skin

Hey guys, it's been so long yeah? I didn't feel like blogging for a few weeks, then I had to prepare for my exams so writing a blog post was secondary. I did miss writing though.

So I really love this picture of me. Why? Because all my flaws are showing.

Every time I have tried to take a no makeup picture over the last year or so, I end up looking flawless in the picture. That's a good thing for most people, but to me, it felt like my camera was lying to me. I know that I am not flawless lol.
I have acne scarring on my face and body, I have previously spoken about how it made me hate myself and how I eventually overcame self hate. I also have tiny holes on my face caused by blackheads. Yet, every time I took a no makeup picture, I seemed to appear more flawless than what I see in the mirror.

I really love this picture. Maybe it's my hair?

So for that reason, I didn't upload any no makeup pictures. I felt like I would be lying to my audience on social media. I know how I felt when I had the impression that every beauty influencer on the gram had flawless smooth skin. It made me feel like the odd one out and left me with insecurities.

Unfiltered, unedited, perfect

The last thing I want to do is to be unrelatable by the common man. I want the young girl with acne to see that not everyone has flawless skin and it is okay to have and embrace her bumps and holes. I want her to feel beautiful in her flawed skin and not use makeup as a disguise. I want her to know that I am just like her in many ways.

I hope you enjoyed this post. How do you feel about the picture perfect images you see on social media?

See you in my next post. Xoxo.

Our only goal is to always please the Lord, whether we are living here in this body or there with him.
